One thing we\u2019ve noticed through all those years of experience, is that panel layouts arrive at our shop with either two major issues 95% of the time! So, what are the two most common issues, you ask?<\/strong><\/p><\/p>
Mistake #1: Sizing<\/p>
Sometimes a drawing that shows everything fitting in the enclosure, along with all the dimensions listed, but that is not the case! Dimensions tend to be wrong or components do not fit the specifications of the enclosure. This takes time out of the building process, as we must refer to alternative options and get the approval to do so.<\/p>
Solution: We recommend always scaling your project, whether virtually or physically. However, software can have a mistake with a simple typing error, so the safest bet is to roll up your sleeves and take physical pieces in the same dimensions of your drawing work them into the mock assembly.<\/p>
At the Custom Kele Panel Shop (https:\/\/www.kele.com\/content\/promotions\/mypanelshop.com), we scale all panel designs prior to assembly.\u00a0 In the earlier days, technicians and experts would take cardboard cutouts of the exact dimensions and assemble in the way the diagram instructs. Nowadays, we have magnetic boards to test scale dimensions and send sample photos to customers.<\/p>
Mistake #2: Typos in Circuitry<\/p>
Whether it is a mistake through a misprint, or an error in the method, wiring techniques, or circuitry, often come in a diagram with faulty connections or direct shorts.<\/p>
Solution: After the order is turned all panel drawings go through our drawing review process before it is put on our build schedule.\u00a0 Double check drawings. More times than not, it is a simple typo or copy-and-paste error.\u00a0 Make sure that circuits are hitting the right points. There have been many times where our experts find neutrals<\/p>
running into hot wires.
