Q: I need to monitor AHU supply and return temperatures for air, hot water,
and chilled water in an equipment room with my BAS (RTD or thermistor inputs),
and also provide local display. Is there a way to do this without using multiple
sensors or more expensive transmitters?
A: Kele offers the XD option on the
all-purpose, duct, immersion, and universal sensors by PreCon. The XD option
is basically dual sensors specially mounted in one probe. They can be ordered
in a number of custom combinations of RTD's and thermistors, which means
that you can have two types of sensors at one sensing point. Pick the first sensor
type according to the needs of your BAS, and specify the second to be a Type 24 thermistor.
Route the Type 24 leads from up to six points to a Model TD-6 six-point temperature
display mounted on a convenient wall in the room, and you're on top of the game!
