Dorsett Technologies case study: A monster of a panel job - click here

Kele provides the solutions for large water pump project.

Dorsett Technologies in North Carolina came to Kele with a project for large custom control panels that would automate water pump functionality for their customer. Their 96”x72” panel design was custom for several reasons; the overall size, touchscreen displays mounted in the door and just the number of regular and special order products for each panel. They were also concerned about the quality of appearance and consistency for such a complex panel while still meeting deadlines needed to complete the project.

Dorsett Technologies selected Kele for the following reasons.

• Clean, professional appearance of each panel produced

• Ability to incorporate special parts and features coupled with their regular in-stock inventory of panel parts

• UL® listing ability

• 35 point “Pre and Post” review and inspection process

• To deliver on-time and to specification

• Ability to delegate the coordination and technical capabilities required to produce such a complex control panel

During construction, our team flipped their perspective and wired the entire panel vertically, as opposed to horizontally, as is typically done for smaller panels on a workbench. This allowed them to handle the wiring more easily. Kele also used internal rigging to effectively move the panels through our facility from start to completion.

Once the panel was complete and inspected, the panel was then prepared for shipment. Due to its size, the entire panel was packaged internally with foam to protect all of the internal components. To better stabilize this panel, special lag bolts and strapping were used to secure it directly to the pallet. Kele worked with the shipping company and Dorsett Technologies to coordinate delivery instructions and notifications so the shipment and receipt went according to plan. The shipment traveled from Memphis, TN to the site in North Carolina within two days.

Kele was able to provide the complex panels on time and to specification meaning that there was no unnecessary downtime and all that was required at the job site was to mount and connect electric service to the panel.

Just imagine what Kele can do for your next panel job!
